The story of The Green Garden Gang began many ages ago in a place where kingdoms of wizardry and masters of magic ruled the world. Every imaginable type of being was in existence. Fairies and elves were the townspeople and the Grand Wizards, the eldest of all beings, created the laws of the land. There were some who lived in this magical universe who did not want to live under the rule of the Grand Wizards and turned to the forces of evil to gain power for themselves.
Two wizards, Copernicus and Sapien were brothers who had nothing at all in common except that they were brothers. Copernicus fought for the power of good while Sapien fought for the forces of evil. Good defeated evil and Copernicus was deemed all powerful over his brother. He created a stable rule in his own land and journeyed far and wide to spread the powers of positive forces in nature and in all beings. He traveled through many worlds and succeeded in each mission adding to his powers with each victory. At long last he achieved greatness and because of this found himself at the exact latitude and longitude to enter the porthole to The Golden City of Topica.
Only the eldest wizards and the highest and most accomplished masters of magic lived in this city. In recognition of his work they gave Copernicus the title The Grand Wizard Copernicus. All living beings in the city welcomed him and accepted his teachings. Copernicus realized he needed to absorb as much knowledge as he could so he could continue to battle against the evil forces of Sapien. However, he could not foresee the magical gift he would receive. One day an elder wizard handed him a pot of soil which he was told to protect at all costs. The elder whispered a secret into his ear! He was told that one day he would repeat this secret and a magical power would be revealed. Time passed and then one evening, with a large full moon in the sky shimmering down on him, Copernicus began to repeat the secret. All of a sudden, an abundance of magical colors began to rise from the soil in the pot and a patch of characters jumped up and sprang to life. There was a tomato on a skateboard, a head of cabbage with a policeman’s badge, a strawberry who was singing a beautiful tune and a broccoli with bright red shoes.

Grand Wizard Copernicus remembered that his duty was to protect this secret at all costs because of the great powers contained in the magical pot and so he guards it with all the strength within him.
As the years turn into centuries, the forces of evil grow stronger and Grand Wizard Copernicus fears for the safety of his secret. Believing Sapien could cause danger to it if he ever found the Golden City of Topica he decides to cast a spell upon the magical pot containing The Green Garden Gang, which will put it into hiding to all but the one who will unlock its secret.
Many miles away and centuries into the future lives a seven-year-old boy named Colby who is very curious about everything around him and loves to learn about new things. He is also very kind to all animals and loves to help his father grow vegetables and help his mother in the kitchen on the small island where he lives with his parents, who are lighthouse keepers, and his loyal friend, his dog Webster. Colby and Webster play every day in the gardens and along the shoreline in search of their latest adventure. One day, Colby, while swimming in the ocean, becomes aware of a shiny golden object floating on the surface of the water. He tries to swim out to the object, but he cannot reach it. Day after day he returns and the object is still out there, so Colby keeps trying and trying to swim farther out. One day he swims out just far enough to capture this mysterious treasure and safely returns it to shore. He does not know what it is. Webster is just as curious as Colby. It is a shiny golden object and Colby has never seen anything like it. It seems to be one piece of a bigger object and Colby wonders if the rest of the pieces are close by. His imagination and curiosity are flowing with ideas of what this could be. Colby and Webster search every corner of the small island looking for more golden pieces. Amazingly, they continue to find more pieces along the shoreline. Each piece is kept safely hidden under Colby’s bed as he continues to search. One day Colby lays out all the pieces he and Webster have found and starts putting them together. He finds that the pieces do fit together and they form an object like he has never seen before. What he does not know is that he has found The Golden Scepter, which is the key to unlocking the secrets of The Green Garden Gang. Suddenly at that moment magical things begin to happen and Colby is mesmerized. Suddenly he is not in his bedroom anymore, but has been transported to The Golden City of Topica!
Colby is greeted by an old man who looks like a wizard. It is The Grand Wizard Copernicus. Colby cannot believe the mystical sights around him and thinks he is dreaming. The Grand Wizard tells Colby that he is not dreaming and that he was chosen to find The Golden Scepter which is the key to unlocking great powers.
Colby’s kindness toward nature and his protection of the golden object have proven him worthy of a great responsibility. The Grand Wizard tells Colby that there is great evil among the magical lands and that he is the only hope to protecting the future. He hands Colby the pot of soil and whispers a secret into his ear. He tells him that one day he will repeat this secret and a magical power will be revealed. He tells Colby that this pot of soil will save the future for him and his family and must be protected at all costs.
Suddenly, Colby is back in his bedroom. He places the pot on the table beside his bed and as he is very tired falls fast asleep. He awakens the next morning and wonders if he may have been dreaming all along. He then sees the pot on the table and realizes that it was no dream. He runs down to see his parents and they act as if he had never been gone at all. He goes outside to find Webster as he has to have someone to share his secret. He picks up Webster and takes him back to his room to show him the pot of soil, but it is gone! He turns to see his mother outside his window carrying the pot to the garden. Shaking her head at finding a pot of soil in Colby’s bedroom she places the pot down by the other pots in their garden. She then heads back in and calls for Colby. Terrified that she will force him to reveal his secret, Colby runs into the closet carrying Webster. Colby whispers the secret to him, knowing that Webster will not tell anyone. The two then run outside and head into the garden to find the pot. Webster starts barking and Colby follows him along a path leading further into the garden. The rain had come down all the night before and there were large puddles all throughout the garden. As Colby runs he steps right into one large puddle and the water under his foot begins to rise up, up, up.
The members of the Green Garden Gang stare up wide eyed at the rising wave of water. The huddle together for safety fearing they will surely all drown if it comes down on top of them. Suddenly a large foot comes down right in front of the pot blocking the large wave and protecting them all from danger. Colby does not even know that the Green Garden Gang has once again come to life.
When he revealed the secret to Webster he revived life in the pot of soil.
Colby bends down toward the pot and is completely captivated by what he sees. He realizes the secret of The Green Garden Gang whispered to him by the Grand Wizard Copernicus and begins to understand why he has been asked to protect the magical pot. Tony T, Mato, Constable Cabbage, Sylvia Strawberry, BK Broccoli and the rest of the Green Garden Gang now know they are safe in Colby’s world and that they do not have to hide from him or Webster.
Colby and Webster promise each other that they will protect The Green Garden Gang forever!
